I still have five boys left over from the Silver Spring rescue (see "mice need home in Silver Spring, MD", ADOPTION/WANTED). HJ, Giles, Montaigne, and Jesse James are agouti. Billy the Kid is PEW. Many of the people who adopted their brothers and sisters just last month are very happy with them. These five were held back because they needed extra taming, and with 36 mice on hand, I didn't have time for them. They are getting their taming and learning their manners, now.
Would anybody like a boy? Their grandfather was a wild house mouse and their mother is a PEW (their father was one of the PEW's original litter by the house mouse). They are all healthy and gorgeous: glossy coats, bright eyes. Let's see what kind of interest there is, and then see if, during the summer with family reunions and vacations, we can get a mouse train or two going. I'm posting this now because the boys will need probably 3-4 more weeks of taming.
One, Montaigne, is becoming tame and is very sweet, almost like a cross between Nice Mouse and Pringle. Rjduve was housing Jessie James and Billy the Kid for me and just gave them back. She hadn't had time to work with them for taming, yet the same day I got them back I had each one out, and each one accepted cheek rubs and bruxed for me. The other three have bruxed for me on different occasions. They all have tremendous potential.
